"Halloween, Thanksgiving, shorter days, oh my! I wish Auntie Em were here to help me. All I have is a scarecrow, tin man, and lion and none of them can help. I know who can help me! I’ll follow the yellow brick road to The Framemakers. They have the brains to help me design my project, the heart to care about me and my art, and the courage to do the framing correctly and on time. They can frame scarecrow’s diploma, tin man’s watch and lion’s medal." - Passage above from L. Frank Baum’s first draft of The Wizard of Oz.
Mr Baum, like you, could not help but think of all the items he had tucked away but would like to frame. That unrelenting to-do list, like a flying monkey on one’s back. Fortunately, like Dorthy, you don’t have to look any further than your own backyard for expert framing because The Framemakers are located right on Cass Ave in Westmont.
Fall brings to mind nature changing colors, going back to school, falling leaves, sweaters, fireplaces, burning leaves and putting the yard to bed for the cold winter months. As you move your life more indoors, bring some of those ideas with you.
• Changing colors – maybe it’s time to change the matting because you’ve painted a room or the mat has faded and looks its age.
• Falling leaves – should your framed item fall The Framemakers can replace broken glass.
• There are innumerable school items, both old & new; class photos, first day, graduation, ribbons, awards, letters, diplomas. Then there’s college sweaters, jackets, and hats.
• Fireplaces – if you have acquired something framed from a household with a smoker or that has a fireplace, bring it to The Framemakers since we can clean oil and acrylic paintings. Soot and nicotine can migrate to the inside of glass – we can take everything apart and clean inside and out.
The Framemakers aren’t all-powerful, all-knowing Wizards but we are as close as you can get for expert framing this side of the rainbow!
